The Iranian Hysterical Professor

Reader comment on item: [Hamid Dabashi:] Columbia University's Hysterical Professor

Submitted by M.J. (Canada), Dec 1, 2004 at 22:34

Send the hysterical professor back to Iran -- deport him; cancel his visa; revoke his citizenship. In Iran, where he came from, according to the Koran, he can lie, intimidate and threaten and write villifying islamist rhetorical statements against the State of Israel to his heart's content. There his honor will be maintained. There no one will speak out against him. There he will be safe. There he will be a non-entity.

As a guest in a host country, where the freedoms (i.e. of speech, worship, pursuit of happiness) are enshrined, he should be careful not to abuse them. When in Rome ....

As an academic, and a suppposed intellectual, he exhibits tunnel vision.

respectfully, M.J.
