another disconnect

Reader comment on item: [Breivik and] Norway's Terrorism in Context

Submitted by myth (Germany), Jul 28, 2011 at 10:51

Breivik, as far as I know, has not confronted other people with his worldviews in an argument before. Has he been isolated from communication completely? Did he isolate himself? Self-reflection, talking to others, emotionally charged arguments, lost friendships, new political friends, political demonstrations, small scale violence. That is a chain of escalation I can imagine. Breivik jumps directly from total isolation to worldwide media attention, from silence to violent action. I find this to be a disconnect.
