Reader comment on item: The BBC Announces: There Is No Terrorist Threat

The link to Peter Bergen's review of The Power of Nightmares in The Nation is broken. Here is a working link:

Bearing in mind that Bergen's review is oriented towards a left-wing audience, and occasionally panders to that audience, still, I actually highly recommend Bergen's article, for anyone who is interested in a serious debunking of the BBC's absurd documentary.

For me, a right-of-center libertarian pragmatist, Bergen's solid, serious review reminds me how truly, mind-bendingly difficult it is for anyone, left, right, or other, to truly get a handle on organizations such as Al Qaeda, which exist but are secret, cellular, and constantly evolving. Indeed, most Al Qaeda members probably don't fully understand what Al Qaeda is or how it works. To fight Al Qaeda, and the broader Islamist movement, requires constant review of our conclusions and revision where justified. Above all, a ruthless commitment to information gathering from diverse sources, including serious left-wing sources such as Bergen, is the order of the day.

I continue to admire Dr. Pipes' commitment to this project.
