I had political science and history classes with Dr. Jennie Blaine Watson at Capital University. I can verify here that she taught the rise of Islam as a political power and to tell you the truth, this was way before 9/11. This was a totally new political concept to me.

Joel Rosenberg wrote an interesting book called: Inside the Revolution: How the Followers of Jihad, Jefferson and Jesus are Battling to Dominate the Middle East and Transform the World. Political Leadership and religious philosophy'have always been intertwined in the public sphere through out history and not just the recent 9/11 event. Think about the pharohs of Egypt and the prince bishops of the Middle Ages. However, I think that safety from extremists puts us all on edge and is now a global concern. You were right all along JBW.
