America's no different than Europe right now

Yes, Pascal Bruckner is right about Europe. But his take on America, no. It's time to face the sad fact that Jeremiah Wright's hate-filled "G-d Damn America" is a mindset and sentiment far more prevalent and deeply felt here in the States than could ever have been imagined. The election of Obama as president after 9/11 reflects that of Spain's after the Madrid train bombings, an act of masochism born of self-hate and blame. It took just a little longer here. And Obama's intense focus on Israel is exactly that of Europe's as Bruckner describes it.
