New elections in the Netherlands; Dutch cabinet has fallen.

Reader comment on item: Western Civilization on Trial: Why We Should Be Watching Geert Wilders

Submitted by Charles (Netherlands), Feb 20, 2010 at 10:10

Today, the 20th of february, the 4th cabinet since the assassination of Dr Pim Fortuyn in 2002, has pulled down the curtains. This rather strange if not unusual coalition of Christian democrats, socialists and orthodox Christians have called it quits. After 3 years of doing next to nothing its over. The socialists stand to get a beating in the coming elections. Mr Wilders party, the PVV, is looking to hit the jackpot. Next, we will have to see if a new coalition can be formed with the Christian democrats, the Liberals and the PVV. They need to win 76 seats minimum for a majority. Immigration, islam, collective security and a much more 'law & order - no nonsense' stance will most definitely be at the forefront in Dutch politics now.

Elections probably around may-june.
