Reader comment on item: Security Theater Now Playing at Your Airport

Submitted by Jay1 (United States), Jan 9, 2010 at 12:11

I dont think its out of bounds to require that all passengers on all flights comming from "any" foreign country to America, be given a full x-ray screening. It is very conceivable that a bad guy can eminate from peace loving France. And I would ask further that the people manning those x-rays be Americans only. To be sure,it is indeed a profiling of the world coming here.

As for domestic, I think the security that we now have, plus a full x-ray when decided, for people of all shades should meet the added test of ,calculated random. And yes,a random blond is not exempt. As for Dr Pipes point about a very large group of overwhelming unarmed bad guys on the same flight, his point is a good one.It may be that someday,if needed, once a seat belt is put on, only the flight attendant can release upon a bathroom or other request. Like when you push a light to get the attendants attention. On most flights there are only two, three or four bathrooms available when unoccupied.
