TSA Should be Trained by Israelis

Reader comment on item: Security Theater Now Playing at Your Airport

Submitted by Sofa Sogood (United States), Jan 7, 2010 at 03:04

I was once interviewed by Israeli security at an airport. It was amazingly excellent. Had I been fabricating, there would have just been no way to pretend. The questioning and method was brilliant -- and not at all rude or even disturbing. And I sure felt safe getting on that plane.

The only problem was that it took, if I remember correctly, about 15 minutes, and I just don't know how that could be done with the many travelers to the U.S. I can't say if they questioned everyone, or just those that seem to warrant it. To interview everyone, or almost everyone, would take too much time.

In any case, considering the excellence of their technique, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have the TSA personnel trained by Israelis.
