The Arabs generally, as a people, are incapable of ruling themselves in the modern sense as we would know it. That can change with education and a modernization of their culture. Unfortunately the greater mass of the Arab population remains illiterate for the better sense of the word and as well socially ignorant. For the most part they are still locked in a tribal mindset which prevents them from achieving any kind of introspection which is the norm for most more advanced cultures. They always look outside of themselves for the source of thier problems and never at the way they are acting in the world. They are generally more inclined to give creedence to rumor and inuendo and ignore the on the ground facts of their lives. That is especially true if the source of the rumor happens to be a source within their own camp. They will believe any lie comming from one of their own rather than the truth from a stranger, consequently they are succeptable to to rash and unforethought actions which can often operate contrary to their best interests.
