Canadian tolerance is growing very thin

Reader comment on item: [The Khadrs:] Canada's First Family of Terrorism

Rev. Ron Grossman,

The statement lays claim to the naivety of the Canadian government – not her citizens. However, as Canadian, I will bitterly admit that not only are we are na├»ve, but completely apathetic to the world around us. We continue to elect spineless buffoons who would rather place a taxation band-aid over an issue than attack it head on.

It infuriates me that individuals like Tareq Suwaidan can fill an auditorium, full of Muslims, in Toronto and spew forth ridiculous remarks like, "Western civilization is rotten from within and nearing collapse. All that is required to hasten this process, is an attack from the outside.", then happily answer questions from an audience. This imbecile should have been arrested and sent back to Kuwait with the imprint of large military boot on his ass. He should never step foot in this country again, but rest assured he'll be back – count on our lax government to provide a nurturing ground for his nonsense.

The real kicker is that as a Natural Born Canadian I have fewer rights than these so-called minorities, special interest groups or refugees living in the country. If I were to give an open speech stating the "Muslim civilization is rotten from within the core. All that is required is an attack from the outside to bring them to their knees", I would likely be arrested for inciting hate and no doubt the Muslim community would be up in arms. This duplicity is disgusting. If our way of life is despicable to the Muslim they should stay the hell out.

My family has been in Canada for generations. Both my grandfathers, who fought in WW2, are outraged by the current social/political climate of this country. One recently stated, "I didn't fight (Hitler) so a Muslim could move here and tell me what to do and challenge my Christian way of life. If I were a younger a man I bear arms against them."

One thing I can assure; the days of Canadian tolerance are coming to an end. More and more people of my age group are growing tired of watching this decay from both within and outside. If they are truly intent on challenging our way of life they should be fully prepared for us to defend ourselves.

Here's a little eye-opener:
