in response to reader comment: Religion is a big problem

There are many denominations of Christianity, most of them having different strands of beliefs. Christianity has, contrary to what you imply, evolved and progressed many times over its history. But most importantly, it is not a threat to the life of anyone. No one on this planet has cause to fear Chriatianity or Christians. If you don't like it, ignore it and it will leave you alone. Christianity allows for inquiry based thinking, criticisim, reflection, and acceptance of those who don't see eye to eye with even the pastor or leader of the church. All are generally loved and accepted. Buddhism is another religion that no person on earth needs to fear.

Like Christianity, it does not seek to conquer, and it has no "jihad" concept or violent groups running around the planet killing innocent peopke in the name of Buddha (or Christ). Hindis and Sikhs are a loving people - I've lived in India for a time - who will fight to defend themselves, as Christian majority nations will do, but like us it is not in the name of religion, but as a personal or collective choice of people who refuse to be bullied. They, in fact, are usually defending themselves with THE ONE religion all others have to fear: Islam. Islam is unlike the other religions by heads and tails. It seeks to conquer by submission; it allows, even encourages, its followers to kill unbelievers. It preaches hatred. Its central figure, Mohammed, was a warlord for cryin' out loud. It does NOT evolve, as you think it should do. (Good luck.) It does NOT allow for criticism or reflection or acceptanace of others with unIslamic views or lifestyles. It doesn't even allow its followers to choose another belief system! What other religion forces you to follow it under the penalty of being jailed or even killed? You may not like religion, and big deal...so what - but to put other religions in the same box with a death cult is really ridiculous.
