OK, we will assume that he did destroy the temple (That is if there is a temple) and did raze the city, but Jerusalem was not a jewish city, christians lived there too and Arabs but still they all lived all the time with the byzentines even during Jesus time, they never ceased.

so whatever happened to the people of Jerusalem it happened to all and not specifically to the jews, however during the babylons, only Jews were taken out of Jerusalem and it was catastrophic to them

Therefore the second happening is yet to be seen as promised by God when He will gather all the Jews in one place as we see today they are being gathered in one place
