Americans help make the economic recovery become possible... Reader comment on item: War as Social Work?

Other than what commenter G.C. Colan, Esq thinks, the economic and social recovery was not something (Americans) did, it was a process strongly guided and helped but nevertheless it was something the Germans did themselves. But this distorted look at history seems very common around these premises, just as taking all the credit for the liberation of eastern Germany. It needed the east Germans to go to the streets and Gorbachev and the Americans, once again things can't be reduced to the American part....
