When will we stand up to this

I am not talking about the Gov standing up to this but the US Citizens. Muslims who pick the wrong side need to know they are not welcome in our nation if they wish us and our friends harm. How can we let them openly wish us death and not react in self defense? If this was 1943 and Nazis walked up and down the street wishing us death I don't think we would sit and talk about it for long.
