james normanReader comment on item: CAIR's Twisted Stand on Academic Freedom Submitted by ahmad zafire (United States), Sep 6, 2006 at 03:20 James, In America veils are not considerd evil as you said. But many people dont understand the lifestyle of traditional islam. As muslims from different countries come to america they should be allowed to express themselve as they do in their homelands but America is the only place were freedom of speech, life and how a person define themselves are given so why should one change?. In islam women drees this way because the koran which comes from G-d tells women to do so . Because of man eyes and behavior towards women. Here is a poem from and for muslims women that wears veils and how they view themselves. You look at me and call me opressed, Simple because the way im dressed.
