Response to theodore sussman: I strongly disagreeReader comment on item: [Naveed Haq and] "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" in Seattle Submitted by Nabil Ahmad (United States), Aug 28, 2006 at 14:07 I happen to be a pretty serious Sunni Muslim. And I don't hate Jews. I was raised in a pretty conservative Christian community in a certain West African country south of the Sahara Desert. I've encountered hatred and fear of Jews coming from Christians more so than from Muslims. In the 5 years that I spent in schools in my home country among fellow Muslims, I encountered little or no mention of Jews whatsoever. Some of my best friends happen to be Jewish. It appears to me that you haven't read the Qur'an, sir. It does not teach us that Jews are "dogs" or lower. If you consider any and all criticism of Israelites for their disobedience to God and His messengers during specific periods of history to be "anti-Semitic", then the Torah and the Gospel are far more "anti-Semitic" than the Qur'an. Happy reading. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
