Reader comment on item: An Inadvertent Endorsement of Campus Watch [at Georgia Tech]
in response to reader comment: If you read closely

Submitted by D Williams (United States), May 9, 2006 at 12:40

Dear PID,

Here is my problem with your comments...
”Campus watch and the right missing the point as a whole...”
This is an inflammatory statement at best; and untrue.

I still have not heard SBC preachers talking about nuking people. David Duke aside, I am interested in why you did not discuss Jesse Jackson going to Iran, or Even Louis Farrakhan talking about the white devils here are home.

Oligopoly… OK, there are four other affiliates… what is your point?

Curtailed… interesting point of view, how do we base this censorship, and tell the American people what they should hear. On your point of views perhaps or mine? When does this stop when you say so or I do? Perhaps now is when we need Hitler to weigh in, he was a big proponent of censorship to protect the Third Reich.

Objective is how you feel about CNN, MSNBC… what of ABC and CBS, and NBC? I feel they all lean left… I think that to have a news agency that leans right on the national front is something new for liberals, and they get a little territorial, and want it censored, you speak of protecting "the freedom of religion, reproductive freedom, pluralism, and above all the separation of church and state", but ignore freedom of the press… seems convenient. (As far as the perversion of the Separation of Church and State, that is another story by itself.)

Iran rules Iraq? No one rules Iraq.

I do not think we are waging the most effective war against terrorism, I disagree as to the reasons why.

Campus watch has the right to voice their opinions as much as you do. If your way were to be carried forth they would not be able to speak (since that is all they have done), and we would have the very thing you rail against, “The problem is that the anti-terrorist measures employed by the moderate conservatives/neocons are aimed at restricting civil liberties”.

Do you not see that you are the one talking about restricting people rights? You have flat out said it twice in this post! You are talking about taking way people rights, and you call yourself a moderate liberal, and in the same breath say CNN is objective and FOX is a vile, anti-journalistic heap of anti-gay, anti-abortion, pro-theocracy, fundamentalist Christian propaganda. You lost your credibility the moment you talked of censorship, and taking away the right of free speech.

I read your letter close enough to know a budding fascist when I hear one. Perhaps you need to rethink your ideas while holding a copy of the US Constitution.
