Apropos muslim immigrants who become jihadistsReader comment on item: [Ra'ed Mansour al-Banna:] The California Suicide Bomber Submitted by Gabriel Rinzler (United States), Apr 4, 2005 at 22:52 When I was 7 years old I went to school in a small village. When my parents realised that an antisemitic teacher was persecuting me, they send me to a near-by city. I felt inadequate among the city boys and as a reaction became a fighter. My brother came to the US in his forties without a profession and started out as an elevator operator. In a few year he became a manager in a large bakery. This opportunity is was attracts people from all over the world to America. I know lawyers, physicians, economists, etc, who had to start on menial jobs and through hard work made something of themselves. But if you don't have the strength to go through a difficult time (and you come from a different culture) you might blame the new place for your misfortune. At this point one can fall under the influence of those who hate America to become a jihadist. Granted this is a simplistic explanation. On one side it is hard to understand how an educated man becomes a suicidal murderer. But history is full of cases of extreme ideologues (religious; anarchists; communists) who are ready to give their lives for their cause. I wonder how many our so-called "academicians" and "professors" in Mid-Eastern departments have contributed to influence naive youths to hate America.
