Grand DesignReader comment on item: Pipes criticises Middle East leaders Submitted by NEIL ABRAMSON (United States), Feb 14, 2005 at 18:30 In spite of Prof. Pipes' skepticism, Sharon is part of the present geopolitical conflict and is playing his part in it. No one could say he has any illusions about Arafat's standing, the Palestinians have played all of the cards in their hand, so they by sheer necessity must stand down. However... they still bluff and posture. Time has shifted to Sharon's advantage, not them. The war will be resolved in Iraq, its ultimate form still TBD. Bush's re-election has set the policy, not only in the mid east, but in the world at large.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
