Arafat iconic hero

Reader comment on item: Arafat's Bedroom Farce

Dear Mr Pipes,
From what I can read in your articel, it seems that your comments about Yasser stems out the fact that he has given the Palestinian people a chance of statehood as well as bringing the plight of the Palestinians to the international stage. Since the 1960s when Yasser emerged he has been a pain in the neck for the Israelis. As well as escaping many assassination attempts, he dealt the Israeli military a bloody nose. He then went on to become the leader of the Palestinians. A national hero I think he will become a iconic figure like Che Guvera.
