Victory depends on Faith in G*D

Dear Mr. Pipes, you are partly right that the will to win is crucial for Israel's survival. But it is only part of the story. The key to victory is that this will to win must be based on faith in G*D, who chose us Jews to be HIS People with a special mission, outlined in our Torah, and who gave us this Land of Israel as the place to create the ideal society,based on the ideals of the Torah. Beyond this, we must have the vision, not only to have the will that our cause is just, that we have the right to this Land of Israel and Jerusalem, but to yearn for G*D's holy anointed King, or Moshiach, to come and initiate the ideal Messianic Age based on these lofty principals. Israel was not created just to be another Paris or New York or Vilna, but as a stage on the way to this great final redemption. Unlike Islam which apparently seeks to destroy all who disagree with it, Judaism seeks to perfect the world by getting man to perfect himself, constantly improving his character traits and actions.
