Reader comment on item: My Peace Plan: An Israeli Victory
in response to reader comment: Sinai

Submitted by Mickey Oberman (Canada), Apr 30, 2010 at 15:59

Unfortunately, the Arabs have a peculiar tendency inherited from their founders to lie to themselves into believing what is not, really is and what is, is not. Hence they can turn any military defeat into a glowing victory in their own minds.

Sadly, the USA of presidential pretender abu Obama, the UN, Western nations and the EU are all in favour of the destruction of Israel and are ever more diligently working toward that goal.

May I have the effrontery to suggest a simple solution that was, as far as I know, first suggested by Steven Shamrack.
Give the so called Palestinians the Sinai or at least a good part of it. It is a huge expanse of virtually empty land, unused, mainly desert, that Israel, in an offensive war against it, captured and then gave to Egypt in return for peace.

With the billions of dollars annually heaped upon the "Palestinians" by the UN, the western world and even some of their penny pinching Arab brethren and with Israeli know how and ***istance the Sinai could be transformed into a viable, productive, self sustaining state.

It would be an honest victory over the desert that the Arabs could at last proclaim with honesty that they won.
