Reader comment on item: Maj. Nidal Hasan's Islamist Life

Submitted by Alex (United States), Nov 20, 2009 at 20:49

One thing that strikes me whenever politically correct commentators start ascribing blame for incidents like this to everything but Islamism or Islam, it is easy to forget that the incident in question even occurred in the first place--a tacit conformation, I think that Nidal Hasan's true motives were indeed jihadist. I also wonder why no one, including even the brave Dr. Pipes, is asking the hardest questions of all: what is the military doing now concerning its other Muslim service-people, and should the US respond to this attack with military action in the Muslim world itself say, with a hellfire missile strike on Anwar Awlaki in Yemen or by arresting and locking up those who Hassan contacted?
