Until another sources of energy and raw material is found, the US can not afford not to be involved the middle east, it is that simple.

On the other hand, the US is openly baiased tward Israel, see how many times the US has vetoed a UN security coucnil resolution agains Israeli genocude in Palestine, and tell me how long has the Israelis occupied the west bank and golan hight till now? and why the world is not imposing sanctions against Israel? because of US backing Israel, a policy followed for no reason aother than US administrations are under AIPAC, not fully, but AIPAC plays a role in distrorting US forien policy not in US favour, but for Israel continued occupation of Arab land (west bank, golan hights and Shebaa farms)

get the occupation solved, and you solve the middle east problem, but can you convince an occupier to leave with using the stick?
