Spot on, once again Mr. Pipes.Reader comment on item: Victory – An Obsolete Concept? Submitted by Noel Beard (Australia), Aug 6, 2009 at 07:47 I couldn't agree more, concise to the point and undeniably accurate.The language of defeatism is an insult to all those who have shown the courage and self belief to fight for, support and believe in the principles that all free people hold dearly in their hearts. These principles were so eloquently espoused in the words of John Stuart Mill "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight for, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exetions of better men than himself."
