putting up fencesReader comment on item: Who Won in Israel's Elections? Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Feb 11, 2009 at 23:30 In an interview with the International Jerusalem Post (January 30 - February 5) Avigdor Lieberman discussed his idea for Israel, using Cyprus as his model of how two people could live in one state, provided that the people are separated. He said, "There is no peace agreement to this day. But there is stability, security and prosperity. That is our ambition." It seems unbelievable that two peoples cannot share the same land, but in the case of Israel, it has enemies from within that wish to destroy it, and enemies without---namely Iran. He makes very strong statements of intent, but if Avigdor Lieberman is truly the "winner" then he will have to draw a larger audience over to his side, to his firm belief that Hamas must be destroyed, and Iran must be seen as a real threat. Dividing Israel would be similar to the old East Germany and West Germany----that is unthinkable and hopefully will never happen in our lifetime.
