Reader comment on item: Calling Islamism the Enemy

Submitted by donvan (United States), Jul 28, 2008 at 11:47

The collection of mythologies commonly called "Islam" is the current existential threat to the West. The refusal of the intellectual elites to recognize that reality is dishonest. Obviously there is no such thing as "Islam" per se. The various iterations, sects, groups, etc proves that. To view "Islam" as a defined single dogmatic "Religion'" is misleading and incorrect. There are many mythologies that comprise the composite of "Islam". Violence and subjugation being the common traits. Various sects embrace various myths, yet we insist on viewing "Islam" as monolithic. This is an example of buying the Muslam propaganda. Muslams, obsessed with domination, promote the world wide "Ummah", or a "Caliphate" and other such nonsense. When the only commonality is the hate filled dogma that animates and motivates those who have been unfortunate enough to internalize the mythology. The elimination of the mythologies is possible and desirable.
