Hannibal 300bc, the use of the crescent in the ancient worldReader comment on item: "A Corrective to the Pipes Worldview" Submitted by Pastor Michael Cummins (United Kingdom), Mar 1, 2008 at 08:56 When Hannibal was dedicated in the moon god temple he took part in a sacrifice of a lamb and washed his hands in the sheep's blood at the dictate of the temple priest, he then tried to destroy Rome by violence. Hannibal came from Carthage, which was under Roman rule. Hannibals' battle emblem and banner was identical to the minaret displayed on top of mosques. can you please clear up this awkward question- why do mosques display the same crescent as used in ancient pagan worship? Thank you for all your replies and May God bless you Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
