Mixed feelings about Pat Robertson's comments
Reader comment on item: Did Divine Intervention Fell Ariel Sharon?

Submitted by Rachel Garber (United States), Dec 31, 2007 at 15:46

When I first heard about Robertson's statements I was outraged. However, I had lost track of the fact that he was initially the head of the Settlement movement, then subsequently forced them out. Then I couldn't help wondering!!

Now with this horrible situation going on with Jerusalem, and the Annapolis summit, I was reminded of these words from Psalms 122:6-9 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces, for my brethern and companions sakes, I will now say, 'Peace be within thee.' For the sake of the house of the L-rd our G-d I will seek they good"

And for all Israel, Psalms 120:2-4 "O L-rd, deliver my soul from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given unto thee, and shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?"

And finally, Psalms 27:1-3 "The L-rd is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The L-rd is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise up against me, even then will I be confident." I don't think I have to say anymore than that. However, it would behoove Pat Robertson to keep his thoughts to himself, he doesn't have a good track record with the Jewish community.
