Several months ago, I addressed to issue of Evangelical support for Israel and the dangers involved for Israel in allying itself with these folks. Robertson's comments serve as a good example of my position. While other Evangelical leaders will no doubt backpeddle from Robertson's statements, they will do so for reasons of image. Do not think for a moment that Robertson is alone in his views. He is just openly saying the nutty things which others say only "in house."

Once again I will reiterate, making common cause with irrational Christian apocalyptic "thinkers" who view current news items as fulfillments of Bible prophecies relating to the end of the world is dangerous. Keep them at arms length.
