Mr. Pipes:

here is the response that I received from Ray Hanania. Note that Mr. Hanania did not provide any specifics as to how Mr. Pipes and Campus Watch promote religious hatred. Note also how he also deftly changed the parameters of the discussion. I asked for specifics as to how Mr. Pipes promotes religious hatred. He changed the premise from "religious hatred" to one of "extremism." They are different, I think. I also think that it is false that you labeled every Arab or Muslim who criticized Israel as being "extremist." Also, Mr. Hanania did not respond to the charge that writing an article in Arab News was the equivalent of writing for Pravda or Völkischer Beobachter. Anyway, here is his reply:

You are absolutely wrong. I routinely denounce bigots and racists who are Jewish and American AND also denounce bigots and racists who are Muslim. I often condemn the groups that preach anti-Semitism and Holocaust revisionism, and I also denounce Islamic extremism.

But unlike Daniel Pipes who attacks every Muslim and Arab group that criticizes Israel -- he has NEVER spoken positively or praised any Arab or Muslim group that has ever criticized Israel -- I speak out on the basis of ONE PRINCIPLE in defense of Jews, Muslims and Christians ... because to me, the war is not between Israelis and Palestinians, nor between Jews and Arabs. It is between "moderates" and "extremists."

To define onself as a moderate, you must SPEAK OUT againmst Israeli government atrocities against innocent Palestinians as well as denounce fanatic Hamas and Islamic and Arab terrorism that kills innocent Jews. I do that, but do you?

To support Daniel Pipes given his history of vicious assaults against ALL Arabs and Muslims regardless of whether they are moderate or extremist -- and THAT is where Pipes is at fault painting ALL Arabs and ALL Muslims who criticize Israel as extremists.
