Reader comment on item: Knights Templar Trial Records Made Public – After Seven Centuries

Submitted by Denise (United States), Oct 14, 2007 at 03:44

Order of the OSMTH Knights Templar , huh ? I have my doubts . Who knows just how old they really are and how they were inspired ?

They make a big thing of being "a worldclass order with an international network of some of the most sofisticated and influential professional men and women from 40 differant nations " . WOW !! Sarcasm is in order at this time-- think about this : if they are what they say they are how come so very few people ever hear of them or read about them , or even know they exsist ? I'm sure I should have heard of them if they really are such a big deal , because I'm very familiar with the Freemasons.

No--dont even think it ---the Masons are not something in the same category as the Lions or other hometown clubs like that ! The Freemasons are THE OLDEST FRATERNITY IN THE WORLD .That Templar Order can't be older than the Masons. And all the things the Templar Ordo says it is , and does , the Masons do also in one way or the other. This Templar association seems bogus . Sorry, but there's something about that organization and thier claims that annoys me profoundly .

I guess they did a study of the Freemason legacy . Pretty coat-of-arms and everything. I suspect they are just another bunch of wanna-bees like the Rosicrucians .

By the way : I'm pleasantly surprised about Dr. Pipes interest in the Templars etc. They are always calling him a "think tank" . I would'nt be surprised if he knew art too. He seems to be erudite al around .
