I participated in the June 23 San Francico March Against Terror.
The pro-Israel anti-terror marchers were very well behaved and well mannered. Even the two "anti" groups - "Bay Area Women In Black" (a pacifist group) and the usual UC Berkeley "Jewish Voice Against The Occupation"-"JewishVoice for Peace" marchers were very well behaved and very civil.
But, there was this crowd (under a dozen) of so-called Palestinians. They were waving Palestinian flags, several of the males were wearing Yassir Arafat head gear, and two of the females were wearing Islamist rags (covered head to toe - one even had black gloves and dark sunglasses). The woman who was completely covered (gloves and shades) was a real piece of work - particularly verbal - "Hitler was right" "Jews are Nazis" etc. Also, her speech was unaccented.
One observation - the number of pro-Israel faculty persons was very high for the Bay Area. Realize - this was right after the French Hill homicide bombing. One of the faculty members told me that many Jewish faculty persons in the Bay Area have a special place in their hearts for French Hill - Mt. Scopus --- and regarded this particular attack as an attack on liberal American faculty members.
My reactions----
1. I cancelled my order for a 15 mpg SUV (I drive 50 miles a day on US 101) and ordered a hybrid ev. I don't want to pay for Wahabi madrassahs to train those individuals.
2. I have started a shareholders "Proposition" campaign against an airline that I own stock in. I am trying to get shareholder signaures to bring a "e American - Buy American" shareholders proposition to the next annual meeting. I do not want "my" airline to use French built Airbus Industries jets -- be American -- buy American made Boeing jets.
