in response to reader comment: Ahmadinejad in New York -- Columbia U and others Smarm in the name of "Open to Ideas"

After reading Sofa Sogood's letter, I, too, began to have a "sinking feeling". This "rodent" who is scheduled a platform Monday at Columbia University obviously has the vast majority of that University bamboozled.

This is before he even opens his mouth.

Although I'm not usually inclined towards conjecture, something tells me Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia, as well as his visit to the U.N., is not all there is to it. Ahmadinejad is most likely laughing already at the fact that an American Institute of learning is inviting him, a self-proclaimed enemy of the Jewish Race, and, to boot, a financial and logistical aid in the killing and injuring of our soldiers in Iraq. What does that reveal to Ahmadinejad? America is ignorant, divided, weak. He cares nothing about freedom of speech.

Mark my words, President Ahmadinejad will take this visit, particularly the visit to Columbia, home with him. And use it.

He will use it in his speeches addressing his people to show how "backward, anti-family values, culturally deficient" America is. He will use it to show that America is afraid of him and of Islam - why else would he be invited to a country that claims to support the Jews, but then invites him? "You have heard me speak of my goal, the wiping out of Jewish Israel".

He will ultimately use it regarding his vision and realization of nuclear power. No-one knows for sure how close he is to actually aquiring "the bomb". But can you imagine, Ahmadinejad convincing his masses of our ignorance and fear will become just that much more.

The worst case scenario, the coup de grace would be Ahmadinejad using the "bomb" on Israel one year to the date of his visit to the United States of America.

Last but not least, has anyone thought that Ahmadinejad's visit to the U.S. makes it just that much more difficult for our case regarding sanctions against Iran? Or getting other countries to join us on that? We reward France's latest efforts against Iran by inviting Ahmadinejan to a U.S.A. University. Egg on our face.

Columbia University, it's President, faculty and student body are comprized of intellectual marsh-mellows. The more I learn about the institution, the more I am convinced of that. Ahmadinejad, on the other hand, has a master plan behind those beady eyes of his. He will use this event against us. The great "show" of his military parade in Iran, the day before he came to the U.S., could very well be followed by a "show"of the same sort, or worse, when Ahmadinejad returns. There is something behind all this. -JS
