Dear Sofa Sogood,

I don't speak French, but I know a good French joke: a sign in a French gun shop window - "WW II gun for sale; once dropped, never fired".

"America's Crash Course on Islam" was given quite a boost with Ahmadinejade's visit to U.S.A. I watched the entire C. Rose interview with Ahmadinejad (you gave the address in your previous e-mail).

Quotes from Ahmadinejad during the interview:

"Throughout centuries different nations in the region (Middle East) have always lived together peacefully."

"Our relationships with Palistinian groups is a positive one."

"We are the only country where elections are done; the President, the parliment, city councils are elected by the people."

"Iran has the highest levels of Democracy in the region. The U.S. supports dictatorial regimes there."

"Iran works with 180 countries in the world; U.S. is planning an imbargo on themselves, not on us."

DIVORCED FROM REALITY, ANYONE? - with exception to 'our relationships with Palistiian groups is a positve one.'

Charlie Rose, grant you, throughout the interview gives into his emotions visibly and at times looks like he wants to grab Ahmadinejad by the throat. Towards the end, Mr. Rose cites the case of a 67-year old scholar who went to Iran to visit her mother and was imprisoned. Mr. Rose was close to tears for a moment. Of course Ahmadinejad excused the event away by pointing once again at the U.S. Doesn't the U.S. falsly imprison? Ahmadinejad went on to say he hoped for the day when there would be no need for prisons.

Thankyou, Sofa Sogood, for your letter. Everyone should find time, when they can, to view the Charlie Rose interview with Ahmadinejad. It is so telling of what I believe to be very shortly the comming of the next Hitler.

One last comment - Ahmadinejad, while at the Columbia University did not thank President Bush for getting Saddam off his back. Perhaps he is waiting for the time when ALL the Shites from Iraq join with Ahmadinejad. -JS
