Reader comment on item: [Michael Oren's] "Six Days of War"

Submitted by Zylo (Canada), Jul 29, 2003 at 19:37

I'd like more info on WHY Israel has been fighting Arabs in the first place? From what I heard, a group of Israel settlers initially bought some lands from the Palestinian long before the state of Israel has been established. The war has been long and is still ongoing now without much success in gaining recognization from the Arab neighbours beside Egypt. Why Jewish people choose to establish a country in a location that is inferior by Arabs living in the area?
Thanks,

Zylo
