I would appreciate if little more elaboration is given on the war - day to day- kind of commentary.

Jews are God's people and they have suffered over the period of centuries. Only people who can harm Jews are Jews themselves only. These are just symbolic battles, Jews ( Israel) have already won the war they are God's chosen tribe!
