Reader comment on item: U.S. to Israel: Do As We Say ...

Submitted by Edward Cline (United States), Jul 1, 2003 at 18:26

Dear Dr. Pipes:

Don't President Bush and his advisors realize that the ultimate goal of the Palestinians is go erase Israel from existence, and that this "ceasefire" is just another ploy? That goal is in all Palestinian literature -- in the schools, in its politics, in its slogans. Terrorist attacks against Israel will resume in the near future, but Israel will be somehow blamed for them. I am faced with two conclusions about President Bush, Rice, Powell, and that whole crew: They lack the courage to back Israel with moral and military support, or they all suffer from some acute metaphysical dyslexia. Arafat, Abbas, that whole crew, they want to kill Israel. Period. And if Israel continues to follow Bush's "road map," all they'll find at the end of the road is death by suicide, and death by murder.

Send the Palestinians back to Jordan. Or wherever. Let the only free country over there exist, and when it's threatened, protect it if it can't protect itself. As far as I can see, Bush is pulling a Neville Chamberlain, and all it's going to lead to is tragedy and sorrow.
