Arab Minister vs. Iraeli National Anthem

Reader comment on item: Israeli Arabs in High Places

Submitted by Harold Mantle (United States), May 31, 2007 at 18:04

On the face of it, I did not find his attitude all that unusual or unexpected. He makes clear that he stands to honor the anthem out of respect, but that singing the words are not in keeping with his views.

I'll try to research the English translation of the words in the anthem. In the meantime, I would give the man the benefit of the doubt.

Regards,

Harold Mantle
