Islamist ideology

Reader comment on item: Debating Campus Watch

Submitted by Don van Sickle (United States), Jun 3, 2003 at 16:32

Freedom implies choice - not only in action, but also of thought. We must assume that of those within and without our country. If one chooses to embrace the ideology of islamism, then they are responsible for the consequences. I know of no one who
would seek to deprive Muslims of their religious practices, however non Muslims see not a religion but an ideology. It is the ideology we must confront. If the Muslims cannot discriminate between an ideology and a religion, we cannot be responsible
for the misery brought on themselves.
