Firstly, I understand your first paragraph NOT AT ALL. As for the rest, if you're expecting serious disagreement from me, you'll be sorely disappointed. While there are a few "details or odds & ends" I'd either question, challenge, or embellish, but by and large, I'd vote for most of your policies.

You misread all the "behaviours" issues. The Israelis have "observing behaviours" down to a science, particularly where El Al and their border control are concerned; they don't make many mistakes. The other point was that liberals [mostly Dems] through an oppressive, over-funded, over-stuffed coercive federal government, interfere with private and family matters, FORCING BEHAVIOURS THEY DEEM DESIRABLE upon the rest of us. THEY really believe they "know what's good for us."

Let's start with the "walls up between CIA & FBI... et al." Far more important than "walls" are the attitudes and politics of the senior bureaucrats in these agencies; they are part of the "permanent [foreign policy establishment] government," and a large part of the problem. For ALL but 12 of the past 80+ years, Lib/Dems have controlled Congress, greatly influencing the make-up of staffs & Federal civil service; there's too much dead wood and bottom-line post-modernist "pc" and anti-Americanism in their ranks. In excess of 80% of Fed. employees are Lib/Dem; and since that's just the way it is, everything else descends from there.

Only Presidents are elected by vote of all of The People, and the Founders thought they'd arranged for the policies [selection of Judges, etc] of the President to execute; however, when "orders are given and nothing happens" [i.e.: "professionals in the DOJ" refusing to investigate voter-fraud in Ca, Colo, Az, Nv, etc]... WHAT HAPPENS? The Founders did not even hallucinate permanent UNIONIZED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES. [They did explicitly REFUSE to give DC the vote, because they understood that a "self-interested permanent government city," would already be unfairly competing with the legitimate wants and needs of The People, and they didn't want DC to have any more power over us than they'd unavoidably accrue].

Just recalling & analyzing the "Intelligence leaks" to the NYT & WP & LAT over the past 6 years, you can track the "nomenclatura;" whenever Bush or his people attempted to reform [improve] anything, intelligence estimates [written at CIA HQ] for example, something leaked out to kill or redirect the reforms. Cheney and Libby utilized CIA's own RAW intelligence from the field & electronic collection [the stuff our Ops people risk their lives and die to get]. Cheney's problem with CIA was not "collection" per se, but rather tasking [satellites collecting "global warming" data, and selective ignoring and "pc" misinterpretation by HQ aparatchiki, of intelligence collected at great risk and cost! I cannot imagine [being an Operations person] trying to serve one's country by exposing oneself to such danger, knowing that there are subversive, "pc" lib morons "watching my back," and systematically discrediting, ignoring or diminishing the importance of product one risked life and limb to secure.

Even Condi Rice appears to have been infected and jaundiced by "State Departmentitis": a chronic, though highly communicable disease which disarms, dis-informs and screws up everything it touches. [Hiring aggressively anti-American people in USAID {who overtly oppose US policies, badmouth Americda and excuse and alibi our enemies} to run American Information effort in Iraq is a great example]. Iraq was doing just fine until State sent Bremmer [a "career diplomat"], to replace Defense; he redirected the entire effort, instituted the "Foggy Bottom Shuffle" in place of [Rummy &] our military who were actively changing military and civilian conditions on the ground [in Iraq] person-to-person; State screwed-up the Afghanistan situation at the same time by throwing "Defense" offices out of the Embassy, thereby ending the spectacularly successful co-ordination CIA, Sp.Forces et al, had functioning with such breathtakingly positive results.

Condi needs to re-read Machiavelli's The Prince; he'll remind her that the only valuable Foreign Minister, is he who understands that his primary responsibility is to report both sides of all transactions ACCURATELY to the policy maker [President] they serve [not "humor" him]. It's damned well clear that the permanent State Dept has done everything they possibly could do to UNDERMINE GW's initiatives and policies.

We've seen under Colin Powell, his "Familiar" Richard Armitage, and people running State with their own agendas [more interested in "media darling-hood" than our security or winning], going around and undermining the President with "leaks." Of course, WINNING would put to lie most of the crap they "Estimated" [e.g.: 1> Afghanistan couldn't be done and would cost 30,000 American lives. 2> Iran's nukes: 5-10 years off; re-revised timelines, which are always super-optimistic and underestimating threats; they're doing the same with China]. We dare not say anything about the Communist and Arabist moles still there, because we'll be called "right wing nuts." I truly expected better from Condi [and so, I'm sure, did GW].

Dealing with Islam in America will be an incredibly difficult challenge; what you say about their need for "reconciliation" among themselves, is of course quite true; however, the Middle Eastern Muslims have been spoiling for internecine fight for many reasons, and from the look of it, Israel's going to have a very difficult summer. I've seen very little evidence that the "moderate Muslims" have either will, desire or intention to bring about change, and would therefore give serious consideration to "de-certifying or de-legitimizing" mosques and madrasas preaching hate and Jihad [as the Communist Party was/is subversive and dangerous 5th Column in our country], but this again, [this] will be like walking on razor blades.

ON "GLOBAL WARMING" we agree, utterly. I spent many a sleepless night of my childhood with nightmares brought on by terror of freezing and starvation and the "COMING NEW ICE AGE" and need for controlling "OVER-POPULATION." Today, seeing [even] pre-school children already frightened and indoctrinated with this "$*^t" turns my stomach. Of course, those allegedly educated, "First World, Western Civilized" countries all took the population crap to heart: Now, they have to import Muslims and illegal aliens to do the work of their children-not-born, and [to] pay for the socialist welfare states they've crafted. Since Muslims & illegal aliens in Europe, Israel, Canada and US, [even "ALL of the Russias"] haven't bought onto these things, they're producing three or four children to our one, causing other "interesting" and obviously unforeseen problems.

As always and in all things, liberals don't ever think of "...and then what?" mariana
