Asking For Daniel Pipes Opinion

Reader comment on item: Where the Nazi "Big Lie" Endures
in response to reader comment: AntiSemitism and AntiZionism

Submitted by Johanes van Breukelen (Canada), May 7, 2007 at 23:22

I will be so glad to get Dr Daniel Pipes opinion in what I am asking, or at least a brief comment on whether Anti-Zionism should be criminalized like Anti-semitism or not. Can in anyway someone regard Anti-zionism as a crime, if so is the case, by the same token Anti-americanism, anti-Islamism should be a crime as well. We seek to be illuminated a bit here.

Many people I noticed have legitimized their fishing in the unclear water in previous comments. I think it is our responsibilty to make it clear as a community if the learned, and show them there is no fish deep down.

Truly Yours,

Johanes van Breukelen

Daniel Pipes replies:

As an American, I do not believe in prohibiting or criminalizing opinions, however offensive they may be. I do believe in controls on incitement to violence. The line between those two is murky and, when it comes to Islamism, very much in the process of being discovered and defined.
