Reader comment on item: Is Tariq Ramadan Lying [about Magdi Allam]?

Submitted by Robin Lathangue (Canada), Mar 5, 2007 at 19:37

It is good to see Mr. Pipes staying so close to the words spoken/recorded. This is an important dimension in trying to overcome the incessant misinformation in these sorts of debates. Mr. Ramadan is all for close attention to the text and intra-community dialogue (within the European ummah). Truly: It is possible that a European Islamic identity may yet emerge (thankfully the eternal can look after itself, so -- who knows?), but it won't happen without people like Mr. Pipes following up on and chasing down commentary on remarks made. Kudos, Mr. Pipes, for following up on this. Stay the course.
