in response to reader comment: next step in the peace process

Going back to Gaza makes the same sense as going deeper into Iraq. None.

I have consistently argued that Americans, after deposing Saddam, should have gotten out leaving the Arabs to sort things out themselves. The notion of living with Arabs, or trying to educate Arabs towards Humanity and Democracy has failed, repeatedly, for the last 150 years. The best way to mitigate the danger Arabs and Muslims pose to the free world is to leave them to their own devices after removing their most ruthless chief.

So going into Gaza is a bad idea, unless for a specfic operation, such as freeing the captive soldier, or removing the head honcho, if such a dominant figure emerges. Even now in Gaza they are so busy with gang-wars their primitive missile strikes are growing fewer and less effective.

The same is true for Iran. A swift strike to take out the leadership, to destroy the atomic infrastructure, and out.
