All your comments are quite thoughtful. But remember, Israel won the big war in 1967 and ruled the Middle East, albeit for a short time. The iron was hot and It was then that Israel should have annexed the West Bank and Gaza----the remaining Arabs were packed and ready to leave fearing "Israeli Hordes" and no doubt would have migrated to Jordan. If such had been the case the illegitimate Hashimite regime would have been long overthrown and a Palestinian state declared.

Unfortunately, an avowed socialist general by the name of Moshe Dayan thought the West Bank Arabs and Israelis could live in peace and virtually pursuaded the Arabs to stay givng us today Gaza and the West Bank imbroglios. Maybe the next war will see a different scenario.
