"I know the good Muslims will be offended by what I am saying but I am happy that I don't live near any."

I hate to say it, but the terrorists make it necessary to have a healty suspicion of anyone who could be one of them. Though some of the bad are obvious, because they publically declare their hate or can be seen acting on it, not all are. The thoughtful and decent among them will hopefully know that, and not be offended. They will know that you cannot be expected to be aware of who they are. The important thing is not to react irrationally, and alienate those who can't understand that. But that is difficult, and the perps do all they can to provoke it.

Terrorists deliberately strive to create fear and suspicion. The tension it creates lends itself to violence, which can lead to the chaos the monsters thrive on. When electing leaders to deal with the problem, we need to reject those who have allowed it to get so far out of hand; and certainly those who encourage it.

I'm also glad I don't live near any.
