Witch hunt?

Reader comment on item: Terrorist Profs

Wow. Many of these comments sound as if they have been taken straight from a certain Arthur Miller book. "...we need to take a good, hard look at all Muslims in the United States, regardless of their "station in life"." This comment ridiculously suggests that we would hate to only discriminate the blue-collar Muslims, we must look at ALL Muslims as if they are terrorists until they prove themselves otherwise???

One user suggested that Arab-Americans should "prove" their loyalty to their country; I suggest we all (hyphenated Americans or otherwise) "prove" our loyalty to our country by staying true to one of the biggest things that sets our country apart from others, the liberties every citizen is assured of.

Just as there is danger in "pussy-footing" around civil liberties to avoid offending people, there is also great danger in suspending these rights in order to hunt out those who wish to do harm to us. Call me idealistic, but we must find the fine-line that runs between these two dangers.
