Reader comment on item: Does Israel Need a [Peace] Plan?

Submitted by joyce (United States), Feb 19, 2003 at 10:06

Go back to 1967, "60 minutes" Mike Wallace did a whole hour on the "Refugee Camps" and their military build-up, young boys and men practicing war maneuvers. Even then, the plan was to annihilate Israel. There is no desire for peace, unless it includes no Jews, Christians, Hindus, Budhists. There is no multi cultural, ethnic or religious possibility. Israel is just a small symbol of their plans. If Israel is destroyed, the rest of the world can be next. It appears the world is in in collusion or denial.

My solution has to do with discovering a new means of energy and this means cooperation with the rest of the world. If oil energy was out of the picture, it would move the destiny of the people away from the natural resources of the planet.

Good article, lots of thought provoking ideas. You covered all of it. Not much hope of the UN caring what happens to tiny Israel and Jews. If the US gives up on Israel or remains wishy washy, it gives a bad message.
