In an interesting contrast, if Orthodox Jews were to discover the name of G-d on a brand of shoes, those shoes would attain a level of sanctity, and rather than scratching it out, which would be a desecration of the Holy Name, the shoes would have to be buried in consecrated ground.

It seems that radical Islam's views of holiness and our own are somewhat different!
