Invitations may be sign of major attack

Reader comment on item: Al-Qaeda Invites Me to Join Its Ranks

Submitted by Gloria (United States), Sep 3, 2006 at 21:27

Dear Dr. Pipes:

I read recently that the Koran says you must give your enemy a warning before you attack. In addition, it says the Muslim must make an attempt to convert the infidel before attacking.

Last week we saw a video of the kidnapped Fox reporter inviting Bush and Cheney to convert to Islam and now this invitation to you and others.

Could this tactic -- inviting known adversaries to convert to Islam -- be a sign that a major U.S. attack is just around the corner? Say, next week on 9/11, for instance?

If so, I guess there's not much we can do about it except to Stay Alert.

Thanks for keeping us informed,

GJS
